Our Mission

At the Mobile Garden Project, our mission is to cultivate communities through the power of gardening. We believe that by teaching children the value of growing their own food, we can foster a deeper connection to nature, nutrition, and community. What started as a pilot program at the Tierney Learning Center in South Boston is now poised to expand to other centers, spreading the benefits of hands-on education and community involvement.

Our Story

The Mobile Garden Project was born out of a simple idea: to bring the joy and educational value of gardening to children in underserved communities. It began at the Tierney Learning Center, where students, volunteers, and community members came together to plant the seeds of what would become a thriving garden. The success of this pilot program continues to inspire us to think bigger and expand our reach to other centers, creating a network of gardens that can transform lives and communities.

Our Approach

We focus on hands-on learning experiences that teach children about the entire plant life cycle, from seed to harvest. Each project is designed to be collaborative, bringing together students, teachers, and community members. As we expand, our approach will remain rooted in education, sustainability, and community engagement.
